Isla, Valerie’s Therapy Dog

My name is Isla and I love to play and sleep all day. I enjoy getting to come to the office and interact with kids and adults. I enjoy talking and playing tug of war. I work with kids on learning to advocate for themselves by communicating to me their needs and wants during our playtime. I am a certified therapy dog, and I am currently working on becoming certified in animal assisted play therapy. I work alongside my partner, Valerie Reyna, and together we enjoy working with kids and adults on a variety of issues. I get excited almost everyday I get to come to work with Valerie. Sometimes there are kids or adults that fear me, even though I am so little, so I go to my bed or my kennel to help them feel safe.

TESTIMONIALS

Valerie has helped our three daughters cope with a wide range of issues.
She is patient and always has creative, thoughtful suggestions.

Valerie Reyna was just who we needed when my 13 year old daughter was struggling with anxiety and depression. Valerie not only helped her with her struggles, but she taught me how I could best support and encourage her.

The future looks much brighter for my daughter and I know that is because of the work Valerie has done with her...and me.

Our daughter has been seeing Valerie for the past year. I am pleased to say she has truly listened to our concerns, and has provided us with excellent input to improve our ability to effectively parent our child. She makes each visit enjoyable and has given our daughter tools/ coping skills that will benefit our daughter through out life. We have witnessed positive changes over the course of treatment and I know it’s because of Valerie’s continual coaching.

As a parent its difficult to find someone who you can trust, and will be a great fit, and I really feel lucky we found Valerie.

Highly recommend

“Words cannot express our deep gratitude for what Valerie has done for our family. She has been instrumental in helping our son work to develop emotional language and valuable skills to cope with his anxiety and ADD symptoms.

Valerie also has taken the time to help me and my husband develop better communication skills as well. My son always enjoys his time with Valerie and looks forward to appointments! She has helped us work with our son’s school to get the programs that our son needs to be successful.

Valerie is attentive, professional, and compassionate. We have full faith and confidence in what she does.”
